Prioritization of the Topics of Evidence-Based Clinical Military Nursing Practice Guidelines in Republic of Korea

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to prioritize the topics of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for military nursing in ROK.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted to 325 nursing officers and military nurses working at 12 military hospitals. The data was collected using a questionnaire consisted of 37 evidence-based clinical practice guideline themes between February and April in 2019. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, and Spearman correlation coefficient.

Results: The priorities of evidence-based clinical practice guideline topics were mental health care, deep vein thrombosis prevention, exercise, intake and output, fever care in order. Priority scores of evidence-based clinical practice guideline topics were significantly different according to gender, age, education level, position, military service period, service period at the medical battalion, and having specialty.

Conclusion: Based on the study results, it would be in need to develop evidence-based clinical practice guidelines with high priority for improving military nursing in the future.
